Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Ali ibn Husayn ibn Ali from Umar ibn Uthman ibn Affan from Usama ibn Zayd that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

“A muslim does not inherit from a kafir.”

{Book 27, Number 27.12.10 : Malik’s Muwatta}

May Allah help my father come to Islam soon, Inshahallah. If I do get inheritance from him as a kafir, it will have to go to charity. Either way, I’m not fussed, whatever Allah wills, I will accept it, Inshahallah. This just reminds me to keep showing my father good examples of being a Muslim. Not that I want his money, Allah has given me enough to live on, Alhumdulillah, but for the sakes of having him in Jannah with me one day, Inshahallah!
